About the Venture

We are excited to launch our newest Stealth Venture - a thriving community and marketplace where industries, technologies and professional services come together to innovate in new ways. We help organisations leverage the proven solutions of others to solve their own business problems, reducing duplicate effort and inspiring new approaches to innovation. 

Our platform hosts a variety of proprietary solutions and curated content from leading industry players, startups, vendors and universities. We aim to inspire and foster collaboration between a community of innovators both online through our platform, and offline through events and relationships.

The Venture is being built by BCG Digital Ventures (“BCGDV”) and is backed by leading industrial players across the world. The business is due to launch in early 2020, and will be based in London, UK with some international travel.

What will the role involve?

You’re the commercial co-founder and driving force behind the marketing and sales strategy. You are accountable for ensuring the commercial success of the organisation and defining the appropriate sales and growth to meet our scaling ambitions.

At the same time, you have an execution mind-set and are determined to ramp up the venture; you can successfully establish key client relationships and drive the business beyond its yearly commercial & revenue targets. This is a great opportunity for a smart and ambitious individual with proven experience in sales operations to own this function within a fantastic early-stage company.

 As The Chief Commercial Officer You Will

  • Deliver strategic leadership for defining the commercial path to growth and profitability of the company and the establishment of an effective growth process and infrastructure
  • Deliver the quarterly and yearly sales targets
  • Build sales and business development organisation from the ground up: hire team of sales, partnership managers, define effective internal processes and create compelling sales material, create KPI based performance system
  • Assess, build and manage a pipeline of target customers across relevant channels to deliver on the company's growth objectives, actively manage the relationship to key customers
  • Align with corporate partner sales efforts to identify potential synergies
  • Actively engage, build a comprehensive network and become a thought leader in our venture’s niche
  • Work closely with product team to communicate customer needs and constantly improve the platform
  • Update implementation and operational plans based on data-driven decisions and analyses

Desired Expertise & Experience

  • Proven business development experience and success in the industrial sector
  • Proven record of building and leading a successful sales and/or partnerships team in high-growth environment (B2C/B) (ie. as Chief of Commercial Department for a global corporation)
  • Strong client account management experience
  • Online marketing and growth sales experience
  • Experience with senior stakeholder management
  • Past experience in negotiating complex deals in the IP space is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate ideas effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Ability to travel to key customers
