Located in opposite Southern Cross Station, our 172-room premium hotel is Accor’s newest property in Melbourne and only the second Mövenpick property in Australia!

The role of Chief Engineer is critical to supporting the operational departments of our hotel and contributes to the high level of service we deliver to our guests.

Your experience and skills include:

• You will be a qualified engineer or tradesperson; with prior experience maintaining a premium product and managing complex project works.
• You will have a strong safety and compliance focus with a sound understanding of local legislative requirements. You will work collaboratively across all departments, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
• You will be a passionate leader and a strong communicator with strengths in developing an empowered team capable of delivering works at the highest standard possible.
• You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule and completing minor repairs as required.
• You will effectively manage all contractors, maintaining all permits and licenses; ensuring sound compliance and the highest standards of safety and security for all guests and colleagues.
• Your approach will be guided by the concepts of environmental awareness and sustainability, hallmarks of this iconic hotel brand.

• Excellent organisational skills as well as the ability to multi task
• The ability to carry out emergency maintenance works outside of normal working hours, in the event of a full power failure, evacuation fire system re-set and/or failure of mechanical systems.
• A hands on approach to solving problems
• Occupational Health and Safety knowledge
• Previous experience as a Chief Engneer in a hotel or guest service environment preferred
