Chief Engineer

Rich history meets modern elegance in the heart of Sydney at The Porter House Hotel Sydney – MGallery. This redevelopment of the iconic 1876 five-storey masterpiece is looking for a Chief Engineer!

This position is responsible of the management of all aspects of the Engineering department in accordance with hotel policies and procedures.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

• Carrying out preventive maintenance throughout the hotel to ensure standards are maintained for guest comfort;
• Inventory and order control for all supplies required by the department;
• Managing contractor inductions and keep & maintain the records on the data base;
• Liasing closley with other departments in order to manage any manitenance related issues in a timely manner;
• Ensuring all regulations involving electrical standards, WHS standards and safe working practices are followed.

About you:

• A strong leader with previous maintenance or engineering experience to take ownership of the maintenance department
• The ability to be a team player with a flexible approach to leading the Maintenance team
• A comprehensive financial understanding of managing a profitable operation, and familiarity with WHS legislation compliance would be advantageous
• A capacity to take initiative and coordinate multiple tasks or projects simultaneously while maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule will be highly regarded
