About the Venture
We are excited to launch a new stealth venture - a thriving community and marketplace where industries, technologies and professional services come together to innovate in new ways. This venture helps organisations leverage the proven solutions of others to solve their own business problems, reducing duplicate effort and inspiring new approaches to innovation.
Our platform hosts a variety of proprietary solutions and curated content from leading industry players, startups, vendors and universities. We aim to inspire and foster collaboration between a community of innovators both online through our platform, and offline through events and relationships.
This venture is being built by BCG Digital Ventures (“BCGDV”) and is backed by leading industrial players across the world. The business is due to launch in early 2020, and will be based in London, UK with some international travel.
What will the role involve?
You’re the executive co-founder and driving force behind the business; setting the vision and defining the overall strategy from launch to scale. You dive deep into defining the business model and are accountable for driving consistent growth, profitability and impact.
At the same time, you still have a hands-on attitude which helps you guide and support the functional teams (ie. operations, sales & product) to bring highest value to the stakeholders. You have experience with IP related deals and a strong network to leverage in the industrial sector.
As The Chief Executive Officer You Will:
Build Great Talent & Teams
- Attract, retain, & develop elite talent
- Nurture a high-performing, agile, one-team culture
- Empower the team towards autonomous delivery, while exercising appropriate balance of control
Execute with Excellence
- Leading and supporting with transactions of IP/digital solution deals
- Lead day-to-day operations
- Align resources to achieve key business priorities
- Actively mitigate business, operational & governance risks
Win in the Marketplace
- Lead later round fundraising to support mid and long term growth
- Facilitate senior R&D relationships for early commercial activities
- Engage major pipeline customers in assisted living to drive early sales
- Handle competition and threats, with constant evaluation of financial structure, capital strategy & strategic priorities
- Own P&L and cash flow; manage burn rate while growing the business ahead of market disruption
Mobilize Partners
- Regularly update the Board of Directors and corporate partners regarding progress on strategic priorities, and collaborate with Board of Directors to accelerate progress
- Invest in strategic partnerships & relationships to drive growth
Encourage Meaning & Purpose
- Serve as chief external spokesperson and public champion for the business
- Establish credibility throughout the customer and partner network by authentic engagement to galvanize company to craft & drive solutions to core business challenges
Desired Expertise & Experience
- Commercial experience dealing with software/digital solution based transactions (either traditional software or Saas) is a must
- Strong network within industrial sectors (i.e., oil & gas, metals & mining, energy) across large corporates, startups and vendors is a must
- Experience leading and scaling at least one high growth start-up in the role of CEO or experience working within a large corporation, at Director or VP level (P&L responsibilities)
- Consistent track record of building successful products and high calibre teams from the ground up, ideally in current roles
- Experience leading Board of Directors and corporate partners to keep regular updates on business performance and progress
- Experience managing strategic partner relationships
