About the venture

We are excited to launch our newest stealth venture - a thriving community and marketplace where industries, technologies and professional services come together to innovate in new ways. We help organisations leverage the proven solutions of others to solve their own business problems, reducing duplicate effort and inspiring new approaches to innovation.

Our platform hosts a variety of proprietary solutions and curated content from leading industry players, startups, vendors and universities. We aim to inspire and foster collaboration between a community of innovators both online through our platform, and offline through events and relationships.

The venture is being built by BCG Digital Ventures (“BCGDV”) and is backed by leading industrial players across the world. The business is due to launch in early 2020, and will be based in London, UK with some international travel.

What will the role involve?

You’re the operational co-founder and driving force behind the business; realising the venture vision from launch to scale. You are the crucial interface between the business and product, diving deep into the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the business. 

At the same time, you have an execution mind-set and a hands-on attitude which helps you run and support teams, such as Legal and Accounting. You have strong experience in running end-to-end deals in the IT sphere and understand how to drive successful transactions at scale. 

As The Chief Operating Officer You Will

Operations

• Work with the CEO to set the vision of the overall strategy; including defining long-term goals and strategies
• Supporting technology and IP related deals from a transactional perspective (ie. legal, accounting, supporting customers)
• Manage competition and threats in the marketplace
• Establishing policies that promote company culture and vision
• Work closely with the accounting and legal teams to execute IP related deals
• Work closely with HR and Recruitment to ensure we attract and retain the best talent

Leadership

• Drive day to day operations
• Align resources to achieve key business priorities
• Proactively mitigate operational & governance risks
• Work effectively as an autonomous and rapidly growing standalone start-up funded by global multinational companies
• Support the CEO on potential fundraising requirements
• Provide expert guidance to all functional areas, including strategy, operations, sales & product
• Help to establish and lead ‘Venture DNA’, drive our culture and employee engagement and retention

Desired Expertise & Experience

• Strong experience running end-to-end deals in the technology and IP related space is a must 
• Strong network in industrial goods sector (oil & gas, metals & mining, energy, automotive) across large corporates, startups and vendors is desirable
• Business Degree highly preferred, or relevant experience
• Experience leading and/or scaling at least one high growth start-up in the role of COO, Programme Manager or Head of Operations, or experience within a Consulting/Corporate start up environment as a Lead Consultant/Project Lead
• Proven track record of building successful digital products and high calibre teams from the ground up
