Chief Product Officer

Alongside our corporate partner, BCG Digital Ventures is launching a stealth startup focused on developing technology for fieldworkers. We are bringing together a cross-disciplinary team of product designers, engineers, business strategists, user-centred designers and technical sales specialists to build ground-breaking tech to address a growing market need.  The business is due to launch in early 2020, and will be based in London, UK with some international travel.

We are seeking a Chief Product Officer who will own the product vision and strategy beyond MVP to continuously refine outstanding priorities and align our focus toward product-market fit. You will set the pace and direction for the product team, and together work with C-level leadership to manage the communication and resources across different teams and offices. Given your experience as a product leader, you must also be able to foresee sizable business, operational and technical risks well before they arise to ensure minimum impact on the deliverability of our product and our business. 

What you will do

• Create, deliver and capture business value through product innovation
• Build and lead the product team beyond MVP to find product-market fit
• Provide goals, structure, mentoring and inspiration to all team members
• Ensure the use of best practices in the development delivery of digital solutions
• Make build versus buy decisions
• Develop business cases and operating plans
• Create, manage and track budgets and work plans
• Work closely with the CTO and CSO in order to ensure successful Proof Of Concepts and influence the roadmap for future development. 

Desired Background

• Experience launching and scaling multiple successful digital businesses
• Experience in developing complex digital business models for B2B and B2E products
• Exposure to utilities, energy and infrastructure industries is ideal
• Excellent leadership skills with experience leading cross-functional teams
• Background in business or a technical discipline (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering)
• Technical hands-on experience in product management and/or design
• Deep understanding of agile development methodologies
• Ability to think strategically and creatively under uncertainty and pressure
• Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders through clear and concise written and verbal communication
