Position Description:
LCIP is an agile organization with the mission to capitalize on China’s ecosystem to accelerate innovation and catalyze value creation for Lilly. Since its launch in 2018, LCIP served as face of LRL in China, and helped LRL to stay abreast of innovation trend in China. In the context of NGR, LCIP started piloting a geography specific, externally focused research model to identify and realize opportunities in China.
Reporting to Head of LCIP and Commercial Partnerships, the Senior Scientific Director leads the scientific/technical team and collaborates with senior management at LRL to set directions for LCIP and execute to deliver on the objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Lead an experienced scientific/technical Team to identify, prioritise, and execute on high value projects
• Reach out to cross functional leaders and key stakeholders (TA, CBD, EI, CI, etc) within Lilly to uncover business needs
• Constantly survey the innovation landscape in China to explore and assess opportunities
• Provide mentoring/coaching, performance management and career development for all reports
• Recruit and develop talent for long-term sustainability and success of LCIP
• Build and maintain strong internal and external network and high profile in the community

Ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines and regulations

Requirements:

• Ph.D. with 10+ years of hands-on drug discovery and development experience
