Alongside our corporate partner, BCG Digital Ventures is launching a stealth start-up focused on developing technology for fieldworkers. We are bringing together a cross-disciplinary team of product designers, engineers, business strategists, user-centred designers and technical sales specialists to build ground-breaking tech to address a growing market need. The business is due to launch in early 2020, and will be based in London, UK with some international travel.

What will the role involve?

We are looking for an extraordinary CTO to be the technical co-founder and driving force for the engineering team, being the crucial interface between business, product and design. You dive deep into technical architecture, manage stakeholders, communicate towards peers and leadership and lead the engineering activities for the company.

At the same time, you still have a passion for development and a hands-on attitude which helps you to guide and support other engineers to bring highest value to the stakeholders with experience in mobile development, serverless architectures and scalable messaging platforms.

In this role you will:

• Define, articulate, and execute engineering strategy and product delivery from launch to scale
• Grow and lead a team of engineers and customer support staff
• Build the systems required for testing, trials, commercial launch, and beyond
• Constantly evaluate technological advancements and innovative solutions to drive continuous product improvement
• Gain and share insights with other leadership team members to continue improving the product and the business
• Work closely with the CPO and CSO in order to ensure successful Proof Of Concepts and implementation of the solution with Enterprise clients

You should have:

• 10+ years architecting and building products from pre-launch through maturity
• Start-up experience in key engineering leadership positions
• Exposure to energy and infrastructure industries is ideal but not essential 
• Ability to stand up an organisation and hire engineering talent
• An entrepreneurial spirit that is flexible, experimental, and resourceful
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Experience with some of the following is a plus: Building enterprise SaaS solutions, event driven microservices, machine learning (NLP), voice transcription & data processing
