Child Development Companion (Child Growth Support Specialization)
Job Description
Distinct from nannies, private tutors, and infant care specialists, this role involves serving as a comprehensive growth guide for children aged 0–12. The core focus is on educational support, while also addressing academic tutoring, habit formation, emotional guidance, interest development, and safety supervision. This position is tailored to meet the needs of middle-class, high-income, and international school families.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and review children’s after-school homework and provide basic answers to questions;
2. Develop daily/weekly study schedules to foster time management skills, independent previewing and reviewing, and a balanced allocation of time for studying, reading, and physical activity;
3. Facilitate extracurricular reading, bilingual picture books, classical Chinese culture introduction, and logical thinking training;
4. Provide regular written and verbal feedback to parents on the child’s learning progress;
5. Closely observe changes in the child’s emotions and personality, and use positive discipline to address negative emotions such as crying, anxiety, defiance, and low self-esteem;
6. Organize enrichment activities—such as art, crafts, music, sports, science experiments, public speaking, and calligraphy—based on the child’s natural talents;
7. Maintain a child development portfolio, documenting changes in personality, interests, learning, behavior, and emotions, and adjust the care plan periodically.
Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree or higher from a full-time program; preference given to majors in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Applied Psychology, Chinese Language, English, or other education-related fields;
2. At least 1 year of relevant experience in early childhood education, elementary school substitute teaching, private tutoring, early childhood education centers, child psychological support, or high-end family companionship; recent graduates with a teaching degree may be trained for the position;
3. Proficiency in at least one skill (e.g., painting, musical instruments, ball sports, crafts, public speaking, traditional Chinese culture), with the ability to independently design educational games for young children;
4. Bonus Skills: Possession of a driver’s license and proficiency in driving;
5. Fluent spoken English with no communication barriers (IELTS 6.5+, capable of daily bilingual conversation).
