What We Are Looking For

• 22-39 years of age
• Native English Speakers (USA/UK/Australia/Canada/New Zealand/Ireland/South Africa)
• Highly energetic, creative, reliable individuals
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher (Education preferred)
• TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification (preferred)
• Relevant teaching experience with students aged 5-12

Job Description
Library Coaches need to assist in all aspects of Elan’s guided independent reading program. The program is designed to nurture independent reading behavior and improve reading comprehension skills over a period of time. Students will be required to undertake a library ‘flow’ in which they will read, undertake AR quizzes on iPads, interview with a coach and write book reports on the stories read. Library Coaches will be required to monitor this process and use motivational tools to ensure that students maintain interest and achieve set goals. In order to achieve this, coaches need to have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with students through literature.

Main Responsibilities
• Check library reservation list and arrival sheet updated
• Charge iPads and check connectivity to internet source and printers
• Keep display areas tidy and organized
• Enforce rules and ‘culture of English’ in the library
• Greet and guide students to the appropriate reading level
• Monitor student progress utilizing data analysis
• Interview students and assess their interview performance
• Assist students in following library flow
• Undertake phonics testing on students
• Inductions (three to four days of guidance for each new student)
• Write student assessment reports

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree required - Education and English preferred
• Over 2 years of postgraduate work experience (experience with children preferred)
• Native English speaker or equivalent English proficiency preferred
• Applicants already in China preferred

Wage package
• 10,000-12,000 RMB per month depending on experience
• Visa sponsorship for successful applicants
• 6 days paid vacation days per year
• Round-trip international flight reimbursement of 8,000RMB
