Job Description

Reuters is looking for a dynamic journalist to join our Beijing-based team covering the Chinese economy for the world’s largest international multimedia news organization . The rise of China and its economy is the story of our time, and we’re seeking an ambitious journalist with a proven record of building sources, spotting trends and developing insightful coverage ideas. The successful candidate will use data and smart storytelling to explain the world’s second-largest economy to a professional audience as well as media clients. S/he will be adept at handling breaking news on data and economic policy, and conveying complex concepts in digestible prose to a clientele with a voracious appetite for sharp and exclusive stories on China. S/he will be an astute operator in the field, handy with a camera for multimedia storytelling, and keen to report on what a changing Chinese economy looks like far beyond the capital. The successful candidate will also work closely with colleagues from other reporting teams in China, including visual journalists and those covering markets, commodities, company news and politics.
