Job Summary
The China Facilities Manager is responsible for all Facility related issues for all corporate sites across China. The role provides strong leadership for strategic decision making as well as being responsible for all day to day operations ultimately ensuring that Abbott’s commercial organizations have access to the facilities that they need to be successful. Ensures key performance indicators, service levels, and contract obligations are achieved for all sites. Leads and participates in development of Country strategy and execution of programs that deliver tangible improvements within China.
Successful candidate will be station in Shanghai
Main Responsibilities
Strategical engagement with Directors, GMs, VPs and Corporate Officers to understand the relationship between Abbott business challenges and Facility needs to ensure optimal outcomes are realized and sustained over time
Develops and maintains strong working relationships with facility partners including Corporate Real Estate, Global Facility Planning, Global Project Management, Global Security, Global EHS, ensuring all aspects of a facility are addressed.
Lead a large staff of Abbott employees and contingents toward best in class facility management performance through the use of Management Operating Systems and continuous improvement tools
Provide strategic planning, anticipate business concern, provide effective solution to Capital project planning which including Tenants improvement, Division relocation and business future growth.
Proactively coordinates with FM team, and FM supplier(s) to achieve and maintain required service levels and KPI for assigned region
Delivers continuous improvements across the China region network to sustain operational excellence and best practices
Effectively communicates information to all sites within China and proactively escalates issues and opportunities within the china Commercial FM governance structure
Aligns metrics reporting with Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to achieve and maintain required service levels in all countries within China
Shares opportunities, achievements, Lessons Learned etc. with counterparts in other countries and with regional Lead
Ensure delivery of financial commitment on Capex and Opex
Ensure delivery on all GFO projects and savings commitment
Support and implement Utilities Excellence and Maintenance Excellence programs
Coordinates with Corporate functions related to facility services like EHS and Security
Qualification
Strong Communications with demonstrated Executive Presence
Experience in Operations, Engineering, Program Management, Facilities Management
Combined experience in areas of commercial office, engineering and project management with people and budgetary management of which a minimum of 10 years of experience should be around Facilities Management for multiple countries within China
Interacts well with diverse groups across divisions, maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators and builds effective relationships with key users
Possesses interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile differences, while optimizing overall divisional goals
Ability to execute continuous improvement projects across countries, sites and divisions with tangible outcomes
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required, preferably in technical discipline: Engineering, Sciences, and Operations Management
