Job Description

China is the fastest growing and the largest market in the world. In-depth understanding of the market is crucial for our company success in the market. Based on market, trend and big-data research and in-depth analysis of the future market needs in China as well as of the emerging technology, competitive environment and market regulations, a set of comprehensive China specific product and feature requirements need to be defined to support the future success of Mercedes-Benz in China.
The set of China specific feature and functions of the vehicle in a descriptive way with detailed product requirements need to be provided to the relevant functions in China and Germany, which also covers from working level to high level product decision committees. In such way, an aligned China voice need to be ensured as the prerequisite for any new feature development, optimization and changes, and also take into consideration of cross carline offering and implementation strategy, the China fit solutions then to be implemented into the first possible carlines.
This position is responsible for requirement generation on classical comodities and areas that include powertrain, drivability, interior, exterior, dimension, NVH, module strategies and also emerging topics such as OTA, 5G and V2X. This position requires profound understanding towards automotive industry, technology and the market, fast learning towards new topics and dedication towards creating synegy between different BU and ultimately creating a sustained discussion and product requirements. In parallel, this position is also resiponsible for organizing and running relevant requirement groups which consists of key person from relevant department and BU, create new topics, facilitate discussions and investigations, and align requirements up to E4 level.
Passion and dedication to cars and new ideas is core critieria for this position as well as high presentation skills to ensure China voice is heard and well acknowledged by all stakeholders. On the other hand, In-depth understanding to the customer and the market, logical thinking, pragmatic problem solving and strong business mind-set is also the essential part of the qualification of this position.

Task description
- Review and analysis of Market Data focusing on specific China related needs
In-depth market data and findings review analysis and compilation of complete findings focusing on the identification of China specific needs ought to be conducted.
- China Specific Features Development
Based on in-depth market analysis, China specific features should be created driven by Chinese market needs. Feature requirements should meet the local needs fully and should be described on a visual and descriptive level and communicated to the responsible development colleagues.
- China Specific features input for Concept book
Based on in-depth market analysis of vehicle concepts and architectures should be described on a visual and descriptive level and communicated with specific product requirements to the responsible development colleagues.
- Organization of workshops
In order to alignment China specific requirements with relevant cooperation departments, certain workshop should be organized, conducted and analyzed with internal and external shareholders, such as requirement groups
- China Specific Feature Customer Evaluation
Discussion with relative Engineer or department and make a product proposal based one the customer feedback, market analysis and other study report. Alignment with research team and design a product study to get customer feedback for the new China specific features.
