Major Responsibilities
•Manage China alliance centers as AZ’s preferred partners for pre-clinical and clinical studies
•Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders of AstraZeneca’s alliance partners in China to expand and strengthen the collaborations
•Achieve operational excellence and increase the visibility of the China alliance activities and the impacts they generated
•Work with External R&D team to develop and implement integrated strategy for key partnerships and collaborations in Asia
•Operationalize the governance of new partnerships including conflict resolutions mechanisms, and expectations on communication practices between AstraZeneca and partners
•Monitor all alliance related activities and lead joint teams in resolving issues regarding effective communication, conflict or role clarification. Pro-actively anticipate risks and needs and identify optimal solutions to aligned with the Oncology Leadership strategy
•Overseeing the global site operations & maintenance of the alliances including improving process of submitting scientific collaborations, translational data management & sample acquisition, clinical operations, etc…
•Responding to external inquiries and identifying the right internal stakeholders to address questions
•Manage governance meetings with strategic partners
•Collaborate enterprise-wide with other functional areas within the early and late stage oncology organization
•Run external engagement events including scientific exchanges
•Prepare and deliver external presentations; work with internal project and portfolio teams to gather presentation
•Improve internal network for efficient alliance management
•Actively participate in creating community of partnership excellence and in activities that embed partnering best practices across the company
Minimum Requirements and Preferred Background
- Advanced degree in science with >5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry
- Knowledge of drug development strategy and process
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Project management experience and capability, proven experience in alliance/partnership excellence; experience building, maintaining and closing partnerships
- Ability to understand integrated regional and local delivery needs
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally based on business needs
- Willingness to work in a global team environment across multiple time zones

- Demonstrated capability and experience to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Strong commercial and business acumen

- Ability to assess issues/risks and effectively implement remediation measurements
