Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Data Center Technician, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

Responsibilities

As a successful Senior Data Center Technician, your performance objectives include:  

• On-time (within SLA) and Defect free (adhering to Microsoft standards) delivery of circuits
• Provides remote and smart hands support on performing cable installations, testing, and troubleshooting using standard processes
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve Layer 1 Optical and circuit delivery faults
• Coordinates Work windows and migrations
• Effectively multitask
• Self-motivated to work with little supervision.
• Provides informal training to peers

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• CompTIA, Microsoft, or equivalent Network Certifications

Preferred Experiences:

• 2 years of physical or remote experience required in datacenter operations and/or network/optical engineering.
• Experience in mission-critical 24x7 environments.
• Basic working knowledge of physical IT equipment (e.g. Servers, SANs, Networking, etc.)
• Basic working knowledge of physical IT infrastructures (e.g. Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, IDF/MDF design, structured cabling etc.)
• Excellent communication, presentation, strong sense of teamwork and interpersonal skills.
