The Opportunity:

Come and join our close-knit and trusted Claims team at AIA.

As a Claims Specialist you’ll report to the Claims Manager and will be responsible for determining the validity and authorising settlement of individual life insurance claims. You’ll ensure that all customers receive a customer experience that assists them best.

About the role:

  • Assess and settle individual life insurance claims arising from policies in force.
  • Make recommendations on policies and guidelines to individual life insurance claims.
  • Liaise with solicitors and other third parties during investigation and negotiation to seek guidance on the course of action that serves the best interest of AIA.
  • Process all individual life insurance claims documents timely.
  • Answer inquires relating to claims processing.

About you:

  • Claims/medical knowledge and experience (required).
  • Previous Life insurance experience (preferred).
  • Self-ownership of role and delivery targets/results driven.
  • Strong ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word and e-mail.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be appropriately empathetic.
  • Strong planning, organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise independently and meet deadlines as well as helping others when needed.
  • A team player dedicated to the success of the collective whole as well as individual goals.
  • Ability to be autonomous within your role and apply your common-sense approach.
  • Open to multiple perspectives, able to take on new ideas and approaches, as well as share past experiences.
  • A keen learner, with initiative, who wants to grow and develop.
  • Methodical and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
