Job Description

Summary:

We are looking for an individual with extensive experience in the Reproductive Health/Clinical Genetics fields using NGS or Microarray -based technologies. Application areas of interest are Cytogenetics, Carrier Screening and Preimplantation Genetic Testing. In this role, you will use your clinical laboratory experience to educate and advise customers on Thermo Fisher Scientific genetic analysis products used in the Reproductive Health field and work closely with Support, Sales and Market Development teams in the Reproductive Health business unit to assist in pre- and post sales activities.

You will be working out of a home office in a location amenable to travel within Asia Pacific Area. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic individual to join a fast paced global Life Sciences organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Train and advise Support/Technical Sales Teams on how Reproductive Health applications are typically used within clinical settings
  • Work closely with select customers primarily in Southeast and South Asia, possibly other Asia Pacific countries to facilitate familiarization and implementation of assays and technologies.
  • Refer customers to current guidelines and best practices and publications in the field of Carrier Screening, Cytogenetics and CNV/SNV analysis.
  • Work closely with Regulatory/Medical Affairs department to educate Support teams on guidelines and how to best work with customers to address their clinical questions and inquiries.
  • Work in collaboration with Technical Sales Specialists and regional Field Application Support to set up optimal strategy for customer sites
  • Produce educational materials and conduct training for internal and external purposes.
  • Assist in designing and presenting results of technology evaluation studies
  • Develop, maintain, and manage interactions with Key Opinion Leaders (“KOLs”) from the obstetrics and genetics communities as well as other relevant healthcare professionals.
  • Address the specific needs of customers by responding to requests for information about our marketed and developing products.
  • Provide presentations on Thermo Fisher Scientific products in Reproductive Health genetic analysis for presales and post sales support
  • Use CRM database to record activities
  • Attend trade shows, user meetings and similar opportunities
  • Maintain close connection with Global Business unit and colleagues in EMEA and Americas

Experience/Qualifications/Qualities that are important in this role

  • Advanced graduate degree in Molecular Biology or Clinical Genetics, certification preferred.
  • 5 or more years of experience in NGS sequencing, Microarray or similar DNA based technologies in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Familiarity with scientific and clinical trends and practices in Reproductive Health Fields such as Carrier Screening, PGT and Cytogenetics
  • Ability to understand and articulate complex scientific literature and use extensive complex clinical data as a key factor in the sales process
  • Written and oral fluency in English, additional languages a plus
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a variety of cultural and regional settings
  • Ability to work in a global matrix- based organizational structure
  • Strong drive for success
  • Willingness and ability to travel, as situation permits
