The Clinical Contracts & Finance Specialist is a member of the Clinical Contracts & Finance Team, a team that deals with the delivery of clinical trials contracts in local market. The Clinical Contracts & Finance Specialist responsible for negotiation and budgeting in clinical trials. Preparation contracts and annexes with investigators and institutions or external vendors on time and with high quality.

This role is located within Site Management & Monitoring in Clinical Operations/Global Medicines Development (GMD).

Typical accountabilities

  • Coordinating work of Clinical Contract & Finance team members
  • Contribute to ad hoc team productivity and efficiency by providing direction and facilitating good team dynamics
  • Trainings for all employees regarding financial/contractual issues and sharing experience
  • Update Finance and Contract Standard Operation Guidelines for local organization
  • Estimates project costs and prepares specification for contracts
  • Preparation, negotiation and processing of contracts with external institutions and investigators
  • Preparation the study budgets based on the protocols and local practices
  • Ensure the work is consistent, and share best practices when work negotiating contracts
  • Adaptation global templates of agreements to local use in accordance with local requirements and SOPs
  • High influencing skills to implement the best solution for AZ
  • Liaises with Legal and Compliance as required to ensure AstraZeneca remains compliant and the contract delivers the best value to the company
  • Will work with more complex accounts and may be involved in the preparation and negotiation of a Master Service Agreement
  • Any other tasks assigned by Line Manager

Qualifications

  • University degree in related discipline, preferably in law or finance
  • Experience in preparation, negotiation and processing of contracts - good understanding of the function whose contracts they are servicing
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant local regulations and international guidelines ICH-GCP, basic knowledge of GMP/GDP and drug development process
  • Good command of English
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation and facilitation skills with the ability to work with others to achieve objectives
  • Excellent attention to details, strong focus on delivery with high quality
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: leading and being a member of team locally, good collaboration and interpersonal skills.
