Position Summary

The Clinical Specialist’s primary responsibility is to serve as a resource to provide a broad base of clinical expertise in the field of home INR monitoring for oral anticoagulation therapy and various stages of heart failure.  In this role responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: supporting the INR and VAD, and HF sales teams as they engage with Acelis Connected Health (ACH) accounts in need of clinical consulting, developing new educational tools and resources, a resource for ACHT platform solutions, clinical training of sales, and partnering with the sales & marketing teams toward promoting the broad adoption of home INR monitoring, Heart Failure monitoring and ACH VADCare services.

Geography covers  : TX, OK, AR, LA, MS. Incumbent to reside in any major city in TX or Oklahoma City.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Provides assistance with implementation of Home INR Monitoring, HF monitoring and VADCare services into practices/clinics.
  • Delivers a variety of consumer-based presentations to raise awareness of ACH home INR PST and HF Patient Self Testing and VADCare services.  Provides educational seminars through patient awareness days, health fairs/expos, etc.  Works in tandem with the Sales and/or Marketing departments to schedule, coordinate and implement educational events.  
  • Conducts presentations as requested by various organizations on ACHHome Monitoring services. Target audience may include: home health agencies, clinic staff, individual practice (cardiology or other), patient groups, etc. 
  • Provides PST Training education to practice and clinic staff who will train PST patients according to ACH Home INR monitoring protocols. Provides training on ACH policies & procedures and the equipment used for PST. 
  • Provides clinical consulting services through work flow analysis/value mapping to new and existing accounts to employ optimization tools once ready for clinical peer-to-peer consultation as directed by sales management. 
  • Provide onsite support for CoagClinic, HFClinic, and VADWatch go-lives and on-going support to clinical staff as needed. 
  • Provide ongoing clinical support and education to sales staff
  • Coverage of key accounts during vacancies in sales territories for continuity of care for our customers.
  • Participate with sales team in key high level meetings with customer decision makers to review Clinical Summary reports and ROI tool presentations with development of plan of action to promote growth of PST, VAD and Heart failure services.
  • Maintains status as a PST educator/trainer, as determined by the Training Department.
  • Receives and directs communication to all relevant team members on a routine basis. 
  • Provides mileage and expense reports on a monthly basis.
  • Documents calls, meetings, and ongoing account information in SalesForce.com.
  • Participates in on-going education independently and as requested by Alere Home Monitoring.
  • Supports and engages in the development of corporate partners’ products and services.
  • Participate and become proficient in high level sales training and strategy.
  • Consults and contributes on new product/ service development. Shares insights into processes and training materials that support best practices.
  • May assist in gathering evidence for clinical studies.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments, approaches, drugs, or information related to core business and disseminates that information to the appropriate departments.
  • Travel up 60-70% mainly within the geographic area indicated above
  • Performs other activities as requested by management.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • RN with Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a similar field of study

Preferred

  • Minimum of five years nursing experience preferred.
  • Anticoagulation, heart failure, cardiac device, or nursing education background preferred.
