Territory: Ontario. Candidates should be based in the GTA.

Position Overview:

Our Endovascular team is looking to add a Clinical Specialist (CS) to the team, with a specific focus on Ontario. This CS collaborates with the Key Account Managers and Marketing Team, focusing on responsibilities for clinical coverage (e.g. support of medical device implantation), health care practitioner training/education, and operational assistance.

Responsibilities:

  • Support field team with medical device case coverage in operating room, cath lab and radiology suites for portfolio devices, including training first time HCP users on devices.
  • Maintains expert knowledge and continuing clinical/technical proficiency in Abbott’s peripheral vascular portfolio, including Supera™, Perclose™, AVP vascular plugs, carotid artery stenting, and entire endovascular portfolio.
  • Develops and maintains thorough understanding surgical application (eg indicated clinical use, device preparation & handling), clinical features, advantages and benefits of Abbott devices.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, including physicians, fellows, residents, nursing staff, and techs.
  • Provides training on devices, procedures, and applications to internal Abbott team when required.
  • Responsible for reporting complaints and any adverse reactions within required timeline.
  • Work collaboratively with entire field team to help achieve revenue and market share targets.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Completed Bachelor degree in Sciences, Nursing or Engineering. Advanced degree (Masters or PHD) or education considered an asset.
  • Medical device experience or hospital work experience an asset. Ideally in operating room (OR), radiology or cardiology.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in the healthcare or engineering field (experience as a registered nurse or tech an asset).
  • Must have a valid drivers license with no restrictions.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Ability to accommodate flexible work schedule, including travel up to 50% of the time, with occasional evenings and weekends.
