Job Description

Come join us in our mission to enable breakthrough innovation for cloud computing in Intel's Data Platform Engineering and Architecture group -DPEA. We're seeking a Cloud Solutions Validation Engineer to join our team working in partnership with Tier-1 Cloud Service Providers (CSP) to deliver state-of-the-art cluster platform solutions. In this role you will engage and collaborate with Intel's Cloud Customers advocating enabling and scaling out optimized software solutions based on Intel technologies to demonstrate Intel's architectures advantage. In this position you will gain invaluable experience into the internal workings of servers and how servers at scale are managed.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing innovative software solutions based on the latest Intel technologies understanding partner software stacks and optimizing full stack software (spanning firmware, drivers, OS, middleware, SDKs, frameworks, algorithms, and applications) as required to enable cloud software.

  • Drive end-to-end workload optimization for customers' critical workloads and usage cases to accelerate design wins.

  • Conduct pathfinding for new workloads on Intel technologies to generate software optimization proposals and prove value proposition. Transform customer requirements to architecture inputs and use cases for product definition influence engineering roadmaps and PXT execution. Develop technical documentation as required.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.


Minimum Qualifications:

12+ months of experience or relevant course work in any of the following areas:

  • Software design, development and/or debug on common multicore parallel computer architectures

  • Python programming

  • Computer/Systems architecture, operating systems data structure algorithms, and/or distributed systems

  • Platform Debug experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Security Architectures like SGX or equivalent

  • Experience with customization solution, e.g., Redis or RocksDB, or MySQL

  • Experience with Cloud Data Center software OpenStack Hypervisor or Container-based Orchestration system, e.g., Kubernetes Docker OpenFaaS

  • Experience with Memory systems storage architecture such as NVMe

  • Experience with performance benchmarking, optimizing WLs

  • Experience with machine learning, deep learning model, and software optimization on CPU or GPU

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
