Job Description
Job Summary In a context of ever-changing standards related to product safety, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Ecodesign regulations, Eaton must ensure compliance of the products. Eaton must be competitive and innovative in this area, keep an eye out towards future requirements and meet customer needs. Part of Distributed Power Quality (DPQ) Research and Development (R&D) team, the Codes & Standards (C&S) engineer ensures single phase Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) and Power Distribution Units (PDU) compliance. This position needs to: Be the main contact for all matters relating to his expertise field for our business for all internal and external customers Ensure product compliance and provide related documentations and certifications Promote Eaton strategy into standardization at national and international committees and associations Job Responsibilities Ensure about product conformity, provide and maintain certifications files. Provide needed information through documentations and product compliance database. Manage certification for export in specific country by external certification body. Be able to evaluate or check the product compliance. Lead certification project internally and at third party laboratory. Be in charge of the test methods for local and international test team. Be the technical point of contact for all product life stage from innovation to sustaining. Animate processes application and continuous improvement. Be part of the Eaton coordination groups to identify risks and prevent from new technical constraints. Promote Eaton strategy in standardization and influence groups. Act as technical expert in national and international working groups. Build and master organizational tools to be able to manage several action plans . Product Scope: One Phase Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) from 300VA to 20kVA Power Distribution Units (PDU) for data centers Communication board and UPS or PDU options Expertise domain: Product Safety, Low Voltage Directive Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Ecodesign, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Environment, Sustainability, product end of life, material compliance, RoHS, REACH Cybersécurity certification followup Documentation, Label, Warning, import export control C&S Role into Eaton organization: Technical expert for new product development, Innovation, sustaining, services and quality Certification contact for marketing, supply chain and sales admin Point of contact for transverse corporate center of excellence, like Product Stuardship and Cybersecurity Standardization: French, AFNOR, Gimelec Europe, CENELEC, CEMEP International, IEC, CISPR Qualifications Education level required Engineer or equivalent Degree: Bac +5 Electronics, Product Safety, EMC, Ecodesign Years and area of experience required Preference between 3 and 5 years - according to the profil (Knowledge of Industrial environment) and motivation to learn Technical knowledge Analytical problem solving competence Knowledge of standards 62040, 62477, 62368, ISO 14040 knowledge of low voltage network electrical installations and product safety evaluation EMC tests in civil domain 62040-2, 61000-4-x, 61000-6-x Aware about Ecodesign approach, experience in LCA, ISO 14040, RoHS, REACH Cybersecurity notions Mandatory technical English Soft skills Ability to insure product compliance and global cooperation Act as technical expert Autonomy to act and decide Ability to communicate and influence Creates or improves tools and methods Build and follow wide action plan Be engage in innovation and environmental impact improvement #LI-AS1 What you will get from us Eaton’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services.
