Job title: Colleague Experience Manager

Department: Talent & Culture (Human Resources)

Your purpose will be:

To work closely with our leaders to ensure that working at The Savoy is a career and life enhancing experience, aligning the colleague experience with the guest experience at every opportunity, and building our reputation as an outstanding place to work. 

You will be accountable for:

  • Building positive colleague relations in all parts of the hotel
  • Managing our ‘Extraordinaries’ colleague recognition  programme
  • Collecting and analysing colleague insight to inform continuous improvement of colleague experience
  • Producing colleague communications and organising ‘feel good’ events
  • Being our internal culture ambassador, promoting our colleague experience at every opportunity

Your key responsibilities & contribution will be:

  • Managing colleague relations issues, being a sounding board for both colleagues and leaders
  • Regularly gathering and analysing colleague insight, driving continuous improvement of the colleague experience
  • Developing employment policies that support progressive and positive colleague relations
  • Managing the ‘Extraordinaries’ colleague recognition programme to ensure that appreciation becomes a distinctive feature of the Savoy culture, ensuring our awards programme is fair and aspirational
  • Promoting a positive and inspiring atmosphere in the hotel through managing colleague communications, social activities, celebrations etc
  • Leading The Savoy’s on boarding programme to ensure that all colleagues receive a five star welcome, and have a comfortable and inspiring start to their time at the hotel.
  • Managing the internship and graduate Inspire programmes
  • Building an alumni platform that keeps our previous Savoy family connected
  • Boosting colleague wellbeing through creative initiatives and benefits

What you will need to do this role:

 Essential:

  • Positive attitude, passion and commitment to make a positive impact on the colleague experience, and to drive maximum ROI in people for the business
  • Warm and empathetic - able to understand the needs of both colleagues and the commercial business needs
  • Insightful and able to think critically about the status quo to drive continuous improvements
  • Able to write well, in a clear and inspiring style pitched for our audience
  • Creative and practical; curious to explore best practice in other industries and produce tailored solutions for our colleagues
  • Commercially savvy
  • Outcome focused; able to manage T&C projects in partnership with leaders in the operation to consistently deliver high quality work
  • High energy, and able to  build positive relationships at all levels in the hotel
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise work effectively
  • Microsoft office; tech savvy

 Desirable:

  • CIPD qualified of part qualified, or equivalent.

  •  Interest in personal development and a desire to grow within the role
  •  Great network within the industry

  • You work brilliantly with colleagues across the hotel so that we are one team delivering a seamless and memorable guest experience
