Lifestyles Manager

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the General Manager, Colleague Residences and Services, responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Oversee the management of the Lifestyles Program
  • Effectively plan and create monthly “Lifestyles Calendar” for Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise employee events, activities, excursions, etc. (i.e. day hikes, social activities, outdoor excursions, staff shuttles, events and other relevant community/hotel info)
  • Execute all aspects of Lifestyles Events, including the planning, set-up, leading of the event, tear-down
  • Create and lead Lifestyles and other Talent & Culture orientation presentation sections as required on a weekly basis to engage new hires in the culture of our workplace and community
  • Develop and launch programming for new hires to have an exceptional onboarding arrival experience
  • Collaborate with internal departments including Resort Activities, Conference Services, Banquets, Outlets and others as appropriate, to execute activities and events
  • Network with CWMR properties colleague experience leaders to identify areas to collaborate and/or share resources
  • Liaise with local businesses and external vendors to provide Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise employees with every opportunity to explore the Rocky Mountains
  • Effectively optimize all internal communication & social channels - execute and deploy communications, campaigns through planning and content creation
  • Maintain the Lifestyles website to ensure colleagues have access to up-to-date hotel and community information
  • Manage the Rockies Gym - the on-site staff fitness facility by ensuring a high-quality wellness experience for Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise staff through sourcing of modern equipment, quarterly maintenance, daily facility checks, membership audits, etc
  • Oversee the Lifestyles Rental Program - ensure daily rental audits & equipment checks are completed, seasonally source cutting-edge rental equipment to ensure Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise employees have access to quality rental equipment (camping, water sports, biking, avalanche safety gear, snowshoes, etc.)
  • Manage all financial functions of the Lifestyles Program, including annual and monthly reviews of Lifestyles budget, processing of vendor payments, etc.
  • Chair the Lifestyles Committee to collaborate with colleagues and recruit volunteers to share ideas, support and lead Lifestyles programming and events
  • Co-chair Wellness Committee to bridge the guest wellness experience and programming with the colleague experience
  • Engage and support various committees including Heartist Recognition, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Onboarding and Health & Safety
  • Oversee weekly shuttles to Canmore and Calgary (and other locations as necessary) through coordinating shuttle availability through Guest Services and scheduling function help drivers.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives
  • Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives
  • Carry out any other tasks as assigned

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Post-secondary education in any of the following areas or equivalent: Events Management, Recreation and Outdoor Adventure, Communications, Public Relations or Hospitality
  • Passionate about  outdoors lifestyle and wellness
  • Highly organized with the ability to coordinate off-property excursions for 10-20 people
  • Experience with and excellent knowledge of Graphic Design Software (Adobe Suite, Canva etc) & Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Experience editing photo and video media
  • Imaginative, creative, out of the box thinker
  • Outgoing, high-energy personality
  • Highly responsible & reliable and self-motivator
  • Ability to work in a team or independently
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working within a hotel an asset

 

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is may be able to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
