Job Description
Position Overview The duties of a Collections Specialist include collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast paced goal oriented collections department. Providing customer service regarding collection issues, process customer refunds, process and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts. Responsibilities Investigates and analyzes credit risks; completes collection reports. Resolves collection problems; and monitors the collection of past-due accounts. Recommends credit extensions and/or legal action where necessary; Works closely with managers to ensure awareness of any complex actions and/or problems affecting their relationship with the customers. Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts. Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Credit Service Center. Enlist the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process. Must communicate & follow up effectively with sales dept regarding customer accounts on a timely basis. Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with internal & external customers. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience AA degree required in related in related discipline. 2 plus years of experience investigating and analyzing credit risks, collections and accounts receivable. Working knowledge of SAP Proficient with Excel, pivot tables and v-look ups Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Strong attention to detail Customer service and collaboration skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience BS/BA degree preferred Experience with CCMT software, a plus Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
