College Guidance Counselor - Taiwan

Department: Academic and Pastoral Affairs
Function: Administrative Staff

Key Relationships: Students, Parents, Administrative Leadership Team

Purpose:
Support students in achieving post-secondary success, focusing on university and college acceptance. Facilitate individual, small group, and whole group sessions on relevant topics.

Qualifications:
- Master's in school counseling, student affairs, social work, or related field preferred (Bachelor’s with 3+ years of experience acceptable).
- 3+ years of college counseling or related experience.
- Knowledge of international education, admissions, strategic planning, and emotional intelligence.
- Skills in English and Mandarin communication, relationship management, organization, adaptability, and initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build positive relationships with students.
- Collaborate with families to create realistic school lists.
- Stay updated on admissions requirements.
- Research schools and provide tailored options.
- Supervise dual enrollment programs.
- Assist with application timelines and resources.
- Ensure proper documentation for students.
- Maintain electronic student files.
- Support staff with recommendation letters and student essays.
- Organize parent nights and overseas university visits.
- Participate in professional development and webinars.
- Maintain acceptance records and assist families with admissions processes.

Other Duties:
- Create a college counseling handbook.
- Update the College Counseling section of the school website.
- Collaborate on the school calendar.
- Supervise after-school activities on a rotational basis.
