Abbott Diabetes Care Division is looking for a

Commercial Director DACH (m/f/d)

based in Wiesbaden, Germany, reporting directly into the General Manager DACH. The position owns the ADC commercial function across all product platforms & brands within the affiliate, which has critical impact on the German business.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Leading and developing the Commercial strategy for Germany to maximize market potential and commercial return for a broad range of diabetes care products, including the gathering of Business Excellence to drive better decisions through the assessment of market opportunities
  • Build a portfolio of valuable innovation opportunities to be evaluated by ADC to drive leadership and market growth. Mandate to drive change and business model innovation in a rapidly changing market
  • Support growth of business by understanding, identifying and implementing the overall business vision for commercial information management with help of reports, dashboards to analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics to make reasonable valuable business decisions
  • Management of monthly IBP process and consolidation of commercial dashboards
  • Management of build-up model
  • Drive extension and expansion of relevant business segments and new business opportunities for significant growth for ADC Commercial also outside the current  market segments, discovering and evolving new business channels
  • Understanding the customer – be familiar with the key customer needs of relevant customers of all ADC products
  • Build and develop team into a high performance commercial organization
  • Lead and drive commercial strategy / development of commercial plan Owns development process of affiliate commercial strategy / plan in cross-functional process with Sales, Market Access, Medical & Finance. Interacts with marketing and customer service peers across AREA (EMEA) and GLOBAL (HQ)
  • Experiment with new commercial concepts / tools in clearly defined pilot projects - undertake any campaign effectiveness monitoring to understand the return on investment of key initiatives
  • Lead path of disruptive business model innovations and simultaneously support and defend existing product platforms where meaningful
  • Effectively liaising, communication and influencing with all stakeholders within ADC including senior management and international colleagues
  • Full budgetary responsibility for designated budgets, managing and tracking investments with KPIs aligned with top and bottom line goals
  • Understands, identifies and implements the overall business vision for commercial information management and takes responsibility for our business process modelling. Monitoring market whilst optimizing the commercial returns
  • Manages data processes and takes responsibility for overall data quality and integrity starting from data intake, validation, mining and engineering as well as modelling, visualization and communication of deliverables
  • Takes responsibility to manage the data/report request process: tracking requests submitted, prioritization, approval, both on a project-by-project basis as well as from an infrastructure perspective

Your Profile:

  • Advanced degree in business science or related fields. Preferred is (Post)-graduate / doctorate degree in management, economics or science
  • 6-8 years’ experience and successful track record in marketing or commercial functions, ideally in the health care arena
  • Category experience (glucose monitoring) or experience in diabetes care is a must
  • Experience in sales management and KOL management
  • Leading of successful marketing / commercial teams, several years of people management experience
  • Proven track record of developing successful commercial strategies, tactics, including implementation
  • Leading change management processes and ability to build strategic plans / contingency plans in times of uncertainty
  • Has a strong affinity towards automation and constantly finding ways to integrate /automate information management
  • Experience in launching radical new innovations
  • Leading of cross functional teams / international exposure
  • Hands-on sales experience, ideally also in leadership roles
  • Solid experience in data or project management
  • Strategical Thinking and strong analytical skills with a focus on problem solving and root cause identification
  • People management skills
  • Strong presentation, communication and motivational skills
  • Excellent English and German language skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Stamina, stress tolerance
  • Ideally international exposure through education and work within an international corporation
  • Strong foundations in market research and understanding of both professional and consumer journeys
  • Advanced marketing skills in sales force execution, Direct-to-patient distribution, DtC space, CRM using / integrating different channels / Solid IT Know-how
  • High personal integrity and ethics required – leading a team by example. Ability to take hands-on action
  • Intrinsically motivated to excel and capable of developing people
  • Ability to communicate a vision for a team, break it down to meaningful short, mid and long-term goals
  • Proven track record in building high performance teams
  • Executes decisively to achieve high-impact results; proactively monitors progress, intervening quickly to remove obstacles and redirect efforts as needed; instils a sense of urgency for achieving results
