RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary role of the Commercial Excellence Director is to support the development of marketing and sales strategy and to track the success of its execution. The CE Director  will take a leadership role in the development, integration and execution of an analytical plan for one or more commercial teams. He/she will work cross-functionally with commercial leadership, finance, marketing and sales. He/she will present analyses and recommendations concerning business strategy to C-level executives as well as track the performance of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Problem Solving:

Identifies, assesses and solves complex business problems for areas of responsibility, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Demonstrates a strategic approach to achieve business objectives by asking strategic questions, aligning resources, developing an action plans, and evaluating action plan results

Candidate should be able to think out of the box and demonstrate innovative thinking

•Analytics:

Maintains subject matter expertise with data sources and tools (including Business intelligence tools), and applies this expertise to develop data gathering tools and deliver high quality data and actionable insights to achieve business objectives. Experience with strategic decision support, market forecasting, performance tracking and promotion analytics are desired.

Of course, candidate must be IT Savvy

•Internal and Field Stakeholder Management:

Closely follows the strategic direction set by senior management when establishing near term goals. Interacts with senior management on matters where they may need to gain acceptance on an alternate approach. Effectively communicates and partners with internal and external stakeholders to gain agreement on business objectives and the action plan to achieve them

•Decision Making:

Has some latitude in decision-making. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.

•Teamwork and Collaboration:

Manages teams and/or work efforts (if in an individual contributor role) Contribute to the team’s performance, actively collaborate within and beyond the team to design and ensure buy-in around solutions.

•Leadership:

      Support an environment of candor; takes accountability

Accountability

Proactively and comprehensively follow through on stakeholder needs with limited direction.

Utilize project management tools and skills to organize and manage tasks and timelines in a manner that ensures timely completion of deliverables

Ensure accuracy of analyses and other deliverables

Strong communication skills that ensure stakeholders are aligned with the progress of deliverables through the life of the project(s)

Experience And Competencies:

  • Master’s Degree: Business, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, and/or related field.
  • 5-7 years’ work experience in within a commercial excellence, Salesforce effectiveness role.
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Candidates should understand the key challenges of infectious diseases in emerging markets but also have relevant experience outside of healthcare sector.
  • Experience of working in African markets is a plus.
  • Must have technical aptitude to include expert level Excel and VBA / macro programming skills and broad-based awareness of other analytical tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency in modeling tools like trend analysis and optimization.
