As Commercial Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst, you will actively support all activities in performing the budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis relating to the CSO division for Eaton South Africa. In conjunction with performing the processes necessary to plan, record, analyse and report on the financial conditions within the business the FP&A Analyst is expected to utilize both quantitative and qualitative analysis of all operational aspects of a business to evaluate the businesses progress toward achieving its goals and to map out future goals and plans. Your main responsibilities: At the core the FP&A Analyst is expected to provide management and executive leadership with analysis and advice regarding how to most effectively utilize the businesses financial resources to increase profitability and grow the company at an optimal rate, while avoiding putting the company at serious financial risk. Comparing historical results against budgets and forecasts, and performing variance analysis to explain differences in performance and make improvements going forward this includes completing monthly closing and forecasting processes including coordination with sales controllers to prepare commentary packages Maintain periodic reporting schedules (Daily/weekly/monthly/Annual) & completion of performance summaries. This includes but is not limited to updating and maintaining Encore / PL Encore, MIS & BI Portal reports. Determining which of the company’s products or product lines generate the largest portion of its net profit (E2E profit analysis) Support in preparation of the annual profit plan & strategic plan Coordinate, interpret and respond to ad-hoc financial requests within division Analyse monthly reports for the South African organization Assistance in preparation of management presentations (Monthly reviews, Profit plan etc.) Support and propose various initiatives to reduce complexity, standardize and improve efficiency of the financial processes Additional ad-hoc analysis and projects as necessary (SAP implementation) Promote good financial stewardship by helping control costs, driving forecast accuracy, driving balance sheet integrity, and ensuring proper controls are in place. Assist in the deployment and monitoring of Eaton Financial policies and control requirements Qualifications Recognized Management or Cost Accounting/Finance Degree or equivalent professional qualification Preferably 3-5 years accounting or financial analysis experience in business (may include articles), functional controlling or analysis – an international, diversified industrial company and knowledge of US GAAP accounting preferred Customer centric approach to doing business that focuses on providing a positive customer experience in order to drive profit and gain competitive edge Excellent analytical skills to interpret and relate financial data so that resulting comments describe the key risks and drivers Sales analytics recurring and ad-hoc to support growth (Channels, projects, etc.) Eager and able to develop into future financial positions within the organization Proficiency with MS-Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Systems knowledge SysPro (preferred but not essential) Good communication skills in English are required Logical in approach & application Work well under pressure and be good at managing multiple tasks within demanding timelines Eager to work in a dynamic and complex organization High level of enthusiasm with a “can-do” attitude Passion for business and ability to drive change What we offer to you: Competitive compensation and benefits package Permanent contract in a fast-growing global company Challenging projects in dynamic collaborative team We make ethics and culture matter – You will enjoy working in supportive and collaborative workplace where ethics and safety are in our DNA We make your perspectives matter - Different points of view are what drive innovation and collaboration, and at Eaton, innovation begins with top-to-bottom diversity.
