Job Description
We are looking for a qualified lawyer to join the team in Siemens Mobility Limited legal team. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for advising the Rail Infrastructure business but will also be required to support the Rolling Stock and Customer Services business units and provide legal support to other Central Functions. As the ideal candidate, you will have a strong background in commercial contracts. The role is based in London but travel to other business locations including the Rail Infrastructure site in Chippenham will also be required from time to time. The Siemens Mobility Limited legal team is based in London Euston, although remote working is possible for part of the working week, subject to work commitments. It supports all the businesses of Siemens Mobility Limited, which comprise Rolling Stock, Customer Services and Rail Infrastructure. Responsibilities and characteristics Review and comment on supply and maintenance agreements, standard terms and conditions and other commercial agreements. Experience of construction industry standard terms and conditions (NEC, ICC, MF1, CECA), delivery risks and opportunity management, PCGs and SaaS contracts would be an advantage but is not essential. Work alongside senior business colleagues as a key member of project and deal teams with a particular emphasis on ensuring compliance with law and mitigation of legal and other risks. Responsibility for the legal aspects of the internal approval processes and written submissions to senior management on legal risks Preparation of precedents and provision of training to the business Demonstrate a willingness to develop an in-depth understanding of the businesses undertaken by Siemens Mobility Limited and the key drivers of all stakeholders. Demonstrate a willingness to engage with non-legal colleagues. What do I need to qualify for this job? English qualified lawyer with at least 2 years post qualification experience gained in either private practice with a well-respected law firm or in-house at a blue-chip corporate or qualified lawyer in another jurisdiction with demonstrable experience in advising on English law topics A desire to work in a fast-paced transaction driven business A flexible attitude and a proven ability to multi-task Be a team player with a willingness to work in collaboration with other members of the team Possess strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to deal confidently and build strong relationships with senior business colleagues Ability to build relationships within international Siemens Legal community Strong negotiation skills and ability to negotiate terms with customers and suppliers Clear understanding of commercial context Excellent academic record Strong communication skills; highly motivated team player; analytical, professional, proactive; intercultural skills Fluent English About us We’re Siemens.
