  • COMMERCIAL OFFICER - ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
    GREATER CHINA CUSTOMER TEAM

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Commercial Officer – Account Management within the Civil Aerospace Customer Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the contractual and commercial arrangements across a range of airlines in the Greater China region. The role will be based in the Greater China Customer Service Centre, Beijing.
    The civil airline group of customers provide an interesting and diverse array of accounts. Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace is currently undertaking a major development in its service delivery to these customers by setting up regional Customer Service Centres. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of this development.

    Key accountabilities of the role are:

    • to be the Commercial lead for allocated customer accounts and to provide an efficient and timely Commercial account management service for such accounts. This includes: management of contracted commitments, TotalCare escalation and reconciliations, drafting and agreeing offer letters, contract interpretation and drafting and agreeing amendments to contracts;
    • to manage the resolution of customer issues, claims and disputes in order to minimise cost and risk to the company. To draft, negotiate and agree associated commercial settlements and/or contractual amendments as necessary;
    • to identify and assess potential risks and liabilities inherent in contracts and to propose and negotiate amendments to manage, minimise or mitigate such risks or liabilities whilst achieving expected financial returns;
    • to manage profit, cash and debt relating to specific contracts to ensure that financial targets are achieved and to provide timely and accurate inputs into the financial forecasting process;
    • to ensure delivery of relevant Customer Team objectives in line with Business Plan Deployment, while demonstrating compliance with Commercial function and business policies and procedures;
    • to provide technical supervision/coaching to Customer Commercial Representatives on day to day issues;
    • to complete business approvals in accordance with applicable business policies and procedures; and
    • to support customer visits as required.

      In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be required to participate in and sometimes lead, via an integrated project team (IPT), improvement projects for both the Commercial function and task area.

      QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Degree or equivalent qualification.
    • 5+ years of Commercial or Legal Experience
    • Well-developed interpersonal, diplomacy, communication, influencing and negotiations skills.
    • Ability to solve complex problems while maintaining customer focus.
    • Highly motivated and capable of working under own initiative.
    • Sound Commercial judgement and business acumen.
    • Proficient in all aspects of administration.
    • Demonstrably strong contract drafting and review skills
    • Ability to prioritise workloads to meet demanding deadlines.
    • Experience of influencing at senior levels.
