What will you do? We are seeking a Commissioning Operations Intern to join the Siemens Mobility - VIA Rail Customer Service team. The individual will be responsible for all equipment and supply chain related tasks in support of the Junior Project Operations Manager. The objective will be to optimize the availability of equipment and documentation for the on-site commissioning team. The successful candidate will be responsible for detailing and implementing the commissioning concept and coordinating it with the project team. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and have good organizational skills. He/she will be responsible for managing the supply chain activities, including the day-to-day management of commissioning task orders, and will ensure sustainable customer satisfaction through process optimization and resource planning. What will your role involve? Support the Junior Project Manager in maintaining the schedule Prepare reports for the Junior Project Manager. Coordinate demand from the on-site production team. Support the Logistics Coordinator in his/her duties. Manage the timely receipt of materials at depots, transfers, drop shipments and compliance. Ensure defective base material is returned in a timely manner and support planning officers with material support issues. Work with various functions to ensure return cycle time is met for each transfer in process. Coordinate with stores personnel to ensure all depots have the appropriate inventory. Coordinate hand delivery of materials to various locations. Provide necessary documentation to the commissioning and production team in a timely manner. Communicate the progress/movement of shipments and other equipment information in a consistent and timely manner. Collect, analyze and summarize data to prepare and create charts, graphs and visual presentations for monthly reports and other operational reviews. Maintain data for management indicator analysis. What you will need to succeed: College level education in engineering or business Experience working in logistics an asset Experience in the rail or related industry an asset Experience with Maximo, SAP or Oracle is an asset Strong experience with various MS Office applications (Excel, Access, PPT, Word, Occasional local travel required within Montreal and occasionally in Ottawa.
