The CHIE Cloud Hardware Experience Engineering (CHEE) team is looking for hardware quality analysts with engineering experience (preferred) and proven track records of success working with large, complex data sets to analyze, interpret, and provide key insight into technical cloud server issues at fault and how hardware spares are used to address those issues across the worldwide Microsoft cloud server Fleet. The successful candidate will drive improvements in efficiencies through a complex supplier / internal stakeholder organizational structure while ensuring that an outstanding external customer experience with Microsoft cloud services -– our customer obsession – is not interrupted.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities:
Couple professional experience with existing internal data sources and tool to analyze cloud server hardware part usage trends in partnership with global suppliers and internal stakeholder teams.
Outline, validate, and quantify Fleetwide opportunities to effectively reduce parts usage and/or costs through part quality, service execution, and/or other factors, and working with others, contribute to the definition of correction action planning.
Regularly report on corrective action status – goals, progress, timetables, and actual impact vs. plan -- to management and other internal stakeholders.
Actively demonstrate stewardship for the accuracy and fidelity of available data with a willingness to help source and incorporate additional data sources to improve the speed and accuracy of opportunity identification.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant discipline
3+ years of data analysis experience, including planning, development, and execution of cross-organizational improvement initiatives.
Demonstrable capabilities for 1) communicating transparently, effectively, and persuasively across a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences, and 3) tracking work actions, progress, and appropriate contingencies thoroughly and on a timely basis.
Demonstrated ability for data manipulation, interpretation, and presentation.
Demonstrated capabilities in providing clarity, creating energy, being impactful, and being self-motivated on a day-to-day basis in a rapidly evolving engineering and business environment.
Relevant blue-water experience with commodities common to server technology – CPU, memory, HDDs and SSDs, FPGA, and motherboards, to name several – and high-density datacenters operations is a definite plus.
