Job Description
Position Overview Be part of a nine person IT Procurement team nationwide within the Siemens Corporate Pooling Indirect Material Supply Chain Management Organization. Interact with diverse suppliers as you work to strategically lead your assigned commodities to preferred supplier partners. You will need to build and continue to strengthen relationships with internal Siemens customers in Information Technology, Procurement, Finance, and other areas. Interact with colleagues across the globe. Your primary goal will be to lead your assigned commodities and be the procurement expert on your cross functional team. The commodity strategy that you will build, implement, and own will ensure a competitive buying position for Siemens through understanding market conditions, leveraging supplier relationships, and coordinating demand within Siemens local, regional, and global requirements. Learn more by watching this video: [1] https://vimeo.com/461396847/3fea6d56ca What are my responsibilities? * Primarily handle Siemens IT Hardware and Print Services, including but not limited to strategy, supplier relationship, continued roll-out, improvements, and open issues. Ensuring alignment with overall global commodity strategy. * Analyze, identify, and coordinate efforts to develop and implement strategic initiatives and programs to drive cost savings opportunities, supply base optimization, cash flow improvement and eSourcing. Track and input results into appropriate Siemens tracking tools. * Provide customer service to key customers and end-users by reporting target achievement results in applicable tools/systems on a periodic basis, as well as interfacing with key support groups to resolve issues * Assist in overall procurement process - supplier quotations, professionally and strategically support Siemens RFx process with preferred suppliers, approve shopping carts, , etc. * Oversee and/or assist in contracting process - Negotiate prices, terms and quality requirements with domestic and international suppliers for high-value, technically complex products and services. * Up front involvement (team member) in all large projects. Actively participates on teams as the Procurement owner to lead sourcing initiatives for required services * Ensure supplier performance through service level agreements and KPIs * Manage Siemens internal customer relationships with the IT function. * Bring supplier innovation to Siemens internal customers * Other duties as assigned, duties & responsibilities may be rebalanced at any time Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience * Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, IT, or a similar field. * Five or more years of experience in a Sr. Buyer or a Commodity Manager role for services. * Shown knowledge in Supply Chain Management, Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management, Procurement Market Analysis (PMA), and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) * Demonstrated strategic negotiation and problem-solving skills, including experience with large international companies * High level customer service orientation, collaboration, quality, and change orientation skills * Ability to work independently and in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) environment * Solid understanding of IT, services, procurement markets, conditions, and processes * Ability to communicate diplomatically in both oral and written formats across all levels of hierarchy. * Advanced skills using Microsoft Office 365 * 10%-15% travel required (post Covid) * Where permitted by applicable law, Siemens may require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 based on job requirements, and in accordance with an accommodation based on legally protected reasons. Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience * Additional languages (German, Spanish, or Portuguese) * MRP/ERP (Oracle, SAP, OneSRM, Fieldglass, etc...) demand planning * Experience in IT negotiations * IT Hardware experience highly desired * Experience in intercultural relations or within an international environment * CPSM certification Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
