Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Siemens Smart-Infrastructure business as a Commodity Manager! You will be responsible for developing and implementing the procurement strategy for software and communications technologies. You will need commodity management experience, however we will provide development of the specific commodity knowledge. You will ensure effective cost, quality and delivery to support business requirements. This opportunity will also involve coordinating business unit supplier quality handling activities in line with divisional lead and objectives. See our flexibility culture here. This role is based out of our Nottingham office with a combination of office and home working. What part will you play? Develop close relationships with strategic/key suppliers. Ensuring the procurement team and leadership team are aware of market trends relevant to their business Lead identification of new suppliers and actively manage developments across the team. Assist in the development and implementation of the business unit action plan Source, assess, develop and maintain supplier relationships to support procurement team achieve short term Project objectives and long-term company objectives. Lead the development of our commodity strategy for IT Negotiating Terms and Conditions for individual purchases up to £5M in value, dealing with commodities greater than £10M per annum, negotiation of frameworks with spend up to £5M per annum. What skills and experience will you bring to the role? You will have experience in Commodity management with knowledge of commodity strategy development Commercial / contractual experience in negotiating Terms and Conditions is a must Ideally holding or working towards CIPS qualification would be preferred A passion for life-long learning and continued growth is key!
