Job Description

The Sustaining Team Commodity Manager/Supply Chain Engineer will lead Supplier Management activities and be the point of escalation for equipment, spares, and conversion kit delivery issues. 

As the Commodity Manager/Supply Chain Engineer Hybrid, you will be responsible for but not limited to: 

  • Partnering with technical engineers and Finance to develop ROI models, review cost models, and negotiate with the supplier to ensure Intel is getting a competitive deal.
  • Owning, writing, and revising equipment-specific contracts.
  • Working with internal owners to better understand the technical roadmap and future capacity needs which may impact equipment forecast and purchases.
  • Developing alternatives for capital and spares options if purchasing new equipment is not a viable option.
  • Establishing and managing the business process with the supplier for equipment forecast and deliveries.
  • Being the point of contact (POC) for the supplier to work on specific equipment, cost reduction projects, and initiatives for short and long-term strategies.
  • Partnering with other members of the Intel account team to develop and align on the strategy for supplier management to drive the supplier to be world-class.
  • Developing and managing internal and external relationships to provide sustainable cost, quality, availability and technology solutions while adhering to procurement policies.
  • Partnering with a diverse stakeholder base to lead and develop multiyear commodity strategies based on business market intelligence, long-term analysis of the category/commodity, and the supply ecosystem.
  • Acquiring and maintaining industry market and technical knowledge of commodities.
  • Leading supplier performance management.
  • Negotiating purchasing contracts statement of works and pricing for goods and/or services.
  • Driving cost-saving opportunities in partnership with suppliers and stakeholders to meet business objectives.
  • Developing new supply chain models for new or existing products or services.
  • This is a Temporary Contract Position for 1-3 Years.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

  •  Program management experience and a history of success, problem-solving in a challenging environment dealing with challenging stakeholders and/or suppliers.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. *This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must possess at least one of the following degrees plus the years of experience determined for each degree in the areas specified below:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with 4+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA/Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with relevant experience.
  • Commodity Management and Engineering experience desired.
  • Experience with writing contracts, supplier negotiations, and selections.
  • Familiarity with Intel's purchasing business policies to include working knowledge of the Ariba system.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
