Description

As a Communications Specialist, you will coordinate the internal and external marketing communications for the Marketing Services group in Caterpillar Global Mining (CGM). You will be responsible for developing, planning, coordinating and implementing specific communication strategies, projects and initiatives focused on the sales and support of Caterpillar mining products and services.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinates the development and implementation of communication strategies, projects and initiatives such as advertising, promotions, newsletters, press releases, sales support materials, presentations, website content and other marketing communication needs. This will include a balance of personal content creation and the coordination of content with various internal and external suppliers
• Requires facilitation of projects with Caterpillar Marketing Services Division, outside consulting and contracting firms, and internal product and service groups
• Coordinates the development and implementation of short and long-term communication plans for CGM. This includes managing Caterpillar voice and assuring marketing communications are within corporate guidelines
• Requires the development and management of an annual budget
• Provides general support to the other CGM Marketing Services team coordinators for key group projects and initiatives such as training, customer programs and events, industry relations, trade shows and exhibits, and marketing plan coordination

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Caterpillar functional areas, policies and procedures
• College or university degree or equivalent experience
• 1 to 2 years of job-related experience
• Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department
• Possess strong communication, interpersonal, time management, project management and budget management skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with graphic design, advertising and promotion, website design and maintenance and technical writing
