Eaton’s Corporate Division is seeking a Community Affairs Specialist to join the team! This position will be based in Beachwood, OH. Position Overview: The Community Affairs Specialist is a unique role that supports local community engagement efforts and global charitable contributions. The successful candidate will work with internal Eaton teams and external stakeholders to lead key Eaton community relations programs and processes, including our grantmaking process, the Stover Award process, and local Cleveland community programs such as Days of Caring and United Way. It’s where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential—and where you can help us reach ours Essential Functions: Plan and lead Cleveland-area volunteer events and employee fundraising campaigns (Days of Caring, United Way, Harvest for Hunger, etc.). Lead the Stover Volunteerism Awards process. Serve as first point of contact for all charitable requests, and manage and run the charitable request process. Maintain the grants database and communicate with grant applicants and recipients. Manage the grant payment process (in the US and internationally) and the matching gift program. Manage Eaton disaster relief efforts. Engage with external community stakeholders (locally and globally as needed), and develop/maintain strong relationships with Eaton site leaders as required. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a community relations position. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. No relocation benefit will be provided. All candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of Beachwood, OH to be considered. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in event planning and charitable giving programs and knowledge of Cleveland non-profit sector preferred. Microsoft Office 365 (including SharePoint), experience in grants management or similar databases preferred Excellent communication skills (written and oral), ability to create strong relationships, ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines effectively, attention to detail, strong customer service attitude. Ability to engage with Eaton senior leadership in a professional and effective manner. We make what matters work.
