Job Description

Your mission: build the most vibrant and positive online community of migrant domestic workers in South-East Asia!

Tagalog or Bahasa Full Proficiency is required or strong cultural sensitivity. Full time permanent contract.

What will you do?

Uplifters is a community-led organization so, community building is in our DNA. You will work directly with the Founder & CEO and collaborate with the Programs Team to initiate and implement online outreach and community building initiatives towards three different audiences.

1. Community of migrant domestic workers. This is your main target audience.Objective: grow our enrollments in our free online money management and personal development program and upcoming courses. Monthly targets will be discussed together.

  • Curate and create content for our social media with an emphasis on our Public Facebook group Uplift Your Life.
  • Leverage our alumni community (Uplifters’ team leaders, Facebook group correspondents, etc) by managing and showcasing their engagement in both our online activities and occasional face to face meetups.
  • Build and leverage a strong network of community partners to sustain our impact and increase our reach. I.e. : Consulates and Embassies, NGOs, employment agencies, service providers for the community etc.
  • Help organisation of monthly events for our community. 

2. Employers of Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs). Objective: grow our enrollments in our fee-based courses and contribute to awareness raising initiatives to promote fair recruitment and management practices.

3. General public. Objective: grow our donors base and contribute to build Uplifters’s positive image.

We are a data-driven organisation. You will monitor and constantly improve your work through KPIs measurement.

You will also contribute to other ad-hoc projects and support your teammates as necessary. You will initially be able to share your work with a community building volunteer. Management responsibilities will be added gradually.

Who are we looking for?

  • Full Tagalog or Bahasa proficiency or can demonstrate a strong cultural proximity. Full English Proficiency.
  • Robust experience in social media marketing, content marketing and community management.
  • Able to demonstrate commitment to achieve goals. Experience working in a start-up environment is a plus.
  • Previous experience related to women empowerment, online education, and working with domestic workers is a plus. 
  • Must have a visa to work and live in Hong Kong.

  • Duration: permanent full-time contract (i.e. 5 days – 40 hours a week) – flexible and remote working on a mutual agreement.
    • Be present one Sunday once a month for gatherings with students (usually from 1 to 6 pm including preparation and debriefing times).
    • As an ambassador and representative for Uplifters’ work, you are expected to occasionally attend different meetings and public events outside of office hours, proactively securing partnership opportunities and contributing in building a strong supporters’ network.

  • Salary: negotiable depending on experience
