Job Description

OFFICE OF FACULTY OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL SCIENCES 

Community Engagement Officer (Ref. 20052005-E3) 

Duties 

The appointee will be required to: 

(a) assist in the community engagement, marketing, publicity and communications projects related to academic and research development, programme promotion, knowledge transfer and image building activities for the Faculty and its constituent Departments/Schools; 

(b) assist in drafting, editing, translating and proof-reading the portfolio of collaterals and publications for the Faculty and its constituent Departments/Schools, including communications and presentation materials, proposals, letters, newsletter, leaflets, brochures, partnership agreements, speeches, and press releases, etc.; 

(c) assist in preparing materials for the Faculty’s website and social media platforms; 

(d) liaise and coordinate with internal and external parties on the rollout of the above- mentioned projects and activities; 

(e) assist in developing rapport with media as well as internal and external stakeholders;  

(f) provide administrative support for the community engagement team; and 

(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Faculty or his/her delegates. 

Qualifications 

Applicants should have: 

(a) a recognised degree; 

(b) at least five years of relevant post-qualification working experience in marketing, media relations, public relations and communications; 

(c) excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; and 

(d) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, preferably with fluency in Putonghua. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
