Job Description
Position Overview The Compensation Manager role acts as the primary face to the business, or Account Manager, for all compensation aspects, in support of assigned units within our Smart Infrastructure line of business. This role provides the necessary details, analytical support, and guidance for pay programs, and for making pay decisions at the employee, department, and business unit levels. This role reports to the Compensation Director, Smart Infrastructure business, which reports to the Americas head, Compensation. Responsibilities Provide support, guidance, consulting, advice to a line of business. Respond to market trends, such as inflation/recession pressures and impact on compensation. Responsible for rolling out regional and global initiatives into the business. Build relationships with People & Organization (HR) Business Partners to effectively understand business needs/issues and respond accordingly with compensation solutions related to salaries, incentives, equity. Support assigned business entity with all aspects of compensation, including but not limited to: • managing salary review process, • using existing salary ranges and global job architecture to support questions around salaries, • guiding business management towards ideal incentive measures and structures, • supporting integration activities for acquired businesses to blend them into Siemens compensation programs, • understanding Siemens equity programs to be able to apply them effectively as part of a Total Reward solution, • seek process improvements in existing compensation processes, e.g., salary review cycle, pay adjustment processes, etc. Support special market benchmarking requests, partnering with our experts in our Market Intelligence team. This may include discussing the job/jobs with the HR contact or Compensation team member, reviewing researched data, summarizing, and discussing implications with management. Partner and collaborate with broader Americas Compensation team for regional or local initiatives. Will have responsibility for a compensation topic (e.g., Salary Review, Recognition) in addition to business-aligned responsibilities. Use tools and systems (e.g., Talent Reward benchmarking tool, Oracle Fusion, Workday, SuccessFactors salary planning module, Siemens-developed bonus tools). Prepare materials for review, i.e., Microsoft Powerpoint, summary exhibits, communication materials. Work in collaboration with others in the Compensation team to analyze data, summarize findings, develop templates/materials/communications, including: o Design o Modeling o Analytics Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from accredited university • 5-8 years of experience in Compensation & Benefits • Limited travel • Experience with Excel, including higher level functions required; Powerpoint at expert level • Knowledge / experience with data visualization software a plus, e.g., Tableau; PowerBI Location: Business is headquartered in Buffalo Grove, IL. Role would be in a hybrid working model, with significant flexibility.
