By joining the Microsoft Technology Center (MTC), you'll be part of the team with the closest relationship to Microsoft architects & engineers and have the deepest technical knowledge in Microsoft products and services at Intel. We are platform innovators, leading industry, standards-definition to scale-quality OEM designs and are the bridge that connects every product that Intel builds with Microsoft technologies.

The team provides you with the unique opportunity to develop into an industry leading expert, working closely with Intel's key partners to deliver optimized solutions for client, enterprise, and cloud customers.

The AI and Developer Tools and Runtimes team within MTC at Intel has an opportunity available for a Compiler Engineer to join our team and make significant impact to developer tools through compilers across Intel's business - Cloud, AI/ML, Edge, Gaming and Client targeting latest and future Intel's Core and Xeon product line.

  • You will be working on advanced compiler optimizations including binary optimizations, source to source compiler, telemetry-based dynamic profile guided code optimization to enable features specific for Intel Architectures.

  • You will work with diverse team to help deliver best-in-class performance and Frictionless Developer Experience to accelerate adoption of Intel Architecture in Microsoft Visual C++ compiler tool chain.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience OR a Master's degree in the below fields with 2+ years of experience OR PhD. degree in in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineer in or Physics or Mathematics or SW Engineering, Scientific Computing, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related technical discipline.

  • 2+ years of experience in C/C++, object-oriented programming.

  • 6+ months of experience working on compiler development such as LLVM or GCC or similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of x86 instruction set architecture and Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX).

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
