At Intel, innovation isn't just our desire within the products and workplace, but for our clients as well. As a Compiler Engineering Manager you will lead a motivated and uniquely skilled team responsible for development of C++/DPC++ and Fortran compilers for the oneAPI Development Toolkit.
You will have the unique ability to manage and grow the team of software professionals including but not limited to compiler engineers and architects. This team deals with the software lifecycle end-to-end: design, development, debugging, validation and optimization, customer engagement and product support. This mostly includes development of advanced compiler optimizations and features specific for Intel Architectures, parallelization and vectorization through compilers, and new programming languages implementation. Successful candidate leads product planning and implementation, ensures sound engineering practices are followed, tasks are properly prioritized matching available resources; may also be required to provide architectural and technical guidance. You will be the key person in providing direction and goals to the group and interacting with stakeholders both internal and external.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Requirements:
- Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or with a related field with at least 1-3 years of engineering team leadership
- People management experience - performance management and technical pipeline development, project management, stakeholder management, hiring
- People management experience with a team of 5-12 engineers
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated fluency in spoken/written English
Desired skills:
- Experience working on compiler development such as LLVM, GCC or similar tools
- Knowledge of x86 instruction set architecture and Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX)
- Experience with vectorization and parallel programming models such as OpenMP and/or SYCL and/or GPU programming
- Knowledge of engineering practices and specialized tools (source control, bug tracking, metrics collection)
- Ability to understand SW product architecture on a high level and make relevant decisions
