Job Description

The Intel Developer Software Engineering (DSE) Division is looking for a 12/16 month intern starting Summer of 2022

You will become a part of the Intel Compiler Team that develops industry leading C/C++ and Fortran compiler products. Your focus will be on delivering the tools and infrastructure used by the compiler developers and QA team members to deliver these compiler that are used by Intel's customers across a wide range of industries to ensure that their applications take full advantage of Intel platforms' capabilities and performance.

In this position you will develop and support software tools to build and conduct stability and performance testing/analysis for Intel compilers. Some of these tools are developed internally, some are from the open source community, and some of them are from third party software tools providers. You will also work on providing leading edge software solutions and global infrastructure to help compiler developers and quality teams worldwide be more effective in their everyday work.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s  degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

  • 3+ months of experience with the following skills:
  • Experience in programming with software tools written in C#, JavaScript or Perl.
  • Experience debugging programs with any debugger
  • Working proficiency in English, both oral and written
  • Precise attention to details
  • Motivation to learn and improve processes and tools

 

 

This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship.  Intel sponsors individuals for employment-based visas for positions where we experience a shortage of US Workers. These skills shortage roles are typically STEM contributing positions requiring a Master's or PhD degree, or a Bachelor’s degree with three years’ related  job experience.  This position does not qualify for Intel Sponsorship because it is either (1) a non-STEM contributing position, or (2) a STEM position that only requires a Bachelor’s degree and less than three years’ experience.


Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Knowledge of UNIX shells (bash, ksh, etc), HTML5 and related UI frameworks, Python
  • Basic knowledge of SQL
  • Familiarity with virtualization solutions (kvm, SIMICS, etc)
  • Familiarity with source control systems such as git/svn
  • Working knowledge of the Linux, macOS, and Windows operating systems

Work Model for this Role

This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
