As a function within AstraZeneca Global Compliance, Compliance Assurance provides independent assurance to the AstraZeneca Management and Board. The function operates regionally with the regional Assurance leads reporting to the global Head of Assurance. Each Assurance Partner delivers assurance work for a cluster of countries.
Main responsibilities:
Maintain professional & effective collaboration with Compliance Business Partner (CBP) and Local Country Business leaders including:
meaningful insight about the status of assurance and any recommendations for improvement plans or corrective actions to the Local Compliance Committee and CBP
timely updates on key incidents/investigations that impact the respective local market
keeping abreast of local market developments that may impact the state of assurance
Deliver globally, regionally and locally defined 2nd Line Assurance Plan in line with established timeframes
Record and report all relevant assurance activities in the relevant data repository
Deliver agreed Assurance reports to Business Partners, Assurance Leads, Local Compliance Committee and global in line with agreed timeframes
Support global and regional Assurance project work
Support discussions at Local Compliance Committee level on Assurance activities and levels of assurance within the market
Provide advice to and consult on effective implementation and maintenance of 1st line monitoring activities
Perform non-significant compliance investigations and issue reports
Provide support to Global Investigations Directors for significant investigations
Ensure prompt communication of all potential investigations to Area Assurance Leads to identify correct path of action
Maintain compliance AZEthics matters (including monitoring and audit findings and self-reported cases)
Review agreed Data Analytics tests and follow-up on red flags
(where applicable) Provide local language support for roll-out of training & communications
(where relevant) act as local privacy officer or representative
Skills:
Experience in pharmaceuticals or a related industry,
Compliance professional including strong assurance experience
Demonstrated experience in multi-cultural arena
Excellent analytical skills
Strong understanding of processes and controls
Good knowledge and application of relevant systems
Strong communication, partnering and interpersonal skills
Deep business understanding
Strong ability to work independently
High ethical standards, trustworthy, operating with absolute discretion
Fluent in English
Preferably basic knowledge in French, German, Italian, Russian
