Eaton’s Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure Division is currently seeking a Compliance Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Raleigh, NC location. Relocation assistance will be provided. Position Overview: Eaton's Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure Division in Raleigh, NC is looking for a Compliance Engineer to support our Electrical Vehicle Charging products. This position is responsible for defining requirements for meeting regulatory certification for electric vehicle charging equipment. In this function you will: Set the stage and plans for what requirements need to be met for electric vehicle charging equipment based upon the geographic location it will be sold into, communicate the plan to design team/business leaders, work with design team, and validation/agency testing to ensure all criteria set-out in the plan is attained. Maintain certifications and ensure business is up to date on any changes in requirements both from a safety and environmental perspective. Interface with multifunctional teams consisting of individuals from product design, validation testing, manufacturing, and product engineering, acting as a consultant and reviewer in matters of agency compliance. Develop unique ways of uncovering product compliance issues before products are built. Bring product design issues and solutions to the fore front of discussion during product design reviews. Analyze new and proposed requirements from geographical, national, and local code writing organizations to determine how they could impact products and therefore recommends changes to them to stay in compliance. Develop compliance test plans; reviews test facilities, setup, and instrumentation; supervises agency tests conducted by others. Analyze test data for determination of validity and product compliance to specifications. Prepare and review test data materials for submittal to safety agencies. Prepare detailed product construction reports for submittal to safety agencies. Develop and maintain status in UL Client Data Test program and other global database to meet project requirements. Promote safety and environmental compliance in design. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum 5 years of experience working with accreditation agencies Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of Electromagnetic compatibility (for safety, emissions and immunity). Knowledge and understanding of safety and legal requirements for information technology equipment, hazardous material handling and transportation is desirable. Must have good written and oral communications skills and be proficient in preparation of formal test procedures and reports. High level of attention to details is required. Position requires an individual who is self-motivated, self-managed, team-oriented, proactive, attentive to detail, task oriented, and able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements. Knowledge of emerging environmental, FCC, TSCA and ROHS requirements Position Criteria: Ability to demonstrate advanced problem solving skills and methods -i.e. Six Sigma, A3, 5-Why, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems, evaluate root cause and identify corrective and preventive actions to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Experience with new product development and associated processes Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills with the ability to lead projects across functions and organizations. Ability to work in a matrix organization, in virtual teams (across different locations), and cross-cultural environments Ability to effectively demonstrate verbal and written communication skills Ability to multitask, complete projects with tight deadlines We provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being.
