Components Engineer/Specialist is responsible for the global new projects components sourcing and development, be the key contact for internal/external stakeholders including commercial purchasing, R&D, quality, project manager, product manager etc. and take full account for the project components strategy deployment to ensure on product and corporate level business continuous success.
Your responsibilities
- • Lead global new product development process component /vendor qualification activities
- • Support parts purchase for prototype, alpha, pilot runs and support initial production to meeting project schedule.
- • Lead new product CBOM health check and release control on all components in a product
- • Perform component market research and support hardware engineer for new component selection and replacement investigation, RFQ handling and quotation analysis.
- • Monitor and collaborate on PCN/PDN/LTB issues related to components in global products
- • Implement and follow up tasks related to RoHS/Ex/UL.etc certification for global products
- • Qualify and implement primary and secondary electrical and mechanical component source opportunities to secure long term product lifetime in the market.
- • Develop and implement tools to improve global project sourcing/purchasing productivity
- • Price analysis and negotiation with supplier to meet the target price for NPD project
Your background
- • Minimum Education Level: Technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- • Minimum 3years practical experience in electrical components engineering, proven experience in industrial business area is an advantage.
- • Good functional knowledge of electronic components such as electrical and electromechanical components and semiconductor technology.
- • Good understanding of business practices, market dynamics and trends
- • Good negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- • International minded and can work in a global team
- • Fluent written and spoken English/Chinese
- • Excellent in office software incl. Excel, PPT, Power BI etc.
- • Ability to work independently in a virtual, remote environment
