Job Description

The Mercure Townsville has an excellent part-time opportunity for a creative and energetic administration expert to support our Sales team. Your strong administration skills will ensure the smooth running of our Conference and Events department.

About the role

  • Assist in the maintenance of conference database of key contacts/clients
  • Assist in the preparation and follow up of conference proposals
  • Actively listen to clients and understand their needs
  • Assist with the formulation of quotations for conference proposals covering venue, function, menu and accommodation costs
  • Coordination and production of conference collateral material

About you

  • Excellent attention to detail and methodical organisational skills
  • Superior time management and organisational skills, including ability to work under pressure with competing deadlines
  • Initiative to seek solutions strategically where problems exist
  • Service driven
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple hotel departments for each events’ success
  • A creative flair to assist with design of conference collateral
  • Working knowledge Opera computer system (desirable)
  • Sound computer skills in the Microsoft Computer Suite
