Job Purpose
Reports to the Supervisor Logistics, within Operations and is part of a team of 8 Configuration & Order fulfillment / shipping specialists.
Our Microscopes (Transmission Electron Microscopes TEM) are highly configurable, high value items produced at low volume. You will be responsible for Configuration and Order Fulfillment for our Microscopes. In this position you need to possess strong communication skills (verbal/written) on all levels as you are the link between Sales & Service organization and Manufacturing. You will interact with multiple stakeholders, Internal customers, Manufacturing, MPS & Production planning, Procurement, Finance, Product-Marketing Managers, Account Managers, Sales and Service Operations, and Senior Management
Duties and responsibilities
Configuration Acceptance: drive technical validation and mapping of orders for complete systems, order processing, build plan slotting and order confirmation. Our transmission electron microscopes are built customer specific and can take up to a year before they’re built, tested and being shipped.
Configuration Progress tracking & Change management: monitor confirmed orders together with extended Operations team, in view of ensuring delivery per committed ship date and delivery conditions and/or mitigating issues that impact commitment and/or revenue recognition
Shipment Preparation: initiate shipment preparation process and coordinate with warehouse and shipping group for timely shipping of customer orders;
Post-delivery: first point of contact at Manufacturing Eindhoven for mitigating issues related to installation issues at customer site (MOAs, DOAs, etc.)
1st point of contact at Eindhoven OPS & Global Sales & Service for all SSD regions of FEI on various issues related to Configuration and Order Fulfillment in a broad concept.
Improvements: Responsible to initiate and support Continuous improvement
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
- Bachelor (HBO) in supply chain management / engineering (e.g. logistics, industrial engineering and management) or career experience that show the necessary skills
- At least 5-7 years of experience within equipment manufacturing and knowledge of complex production / logistics processes in a high technological environment
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with change management within high technological organization. When changes occur around orders take appropriate action towards all stakeholders
- Preferably experience with ERP systems (QAD) and / or CRM (Microsoft Dynamics)
- Preferably knowledge of Customs and Warehousing
- General understanding of how a supply chain works.
- Experience of working within a Multi-National Company
