Job Overview
The Digital Vehicle Solutions team at Daimler Trucks North America delivers value to our customers through connected vehicle products and services. This role will need to have the ability to define/manage project deliverables as well as translate business requirements into functional business objectives – in a Product Owner role for a feature development team, this individual will be working closely with Product Manager(s) to support Agile Scrum team objectives and goals. This position collaborates with departments regarding their assigned product area (Service, Detroit, Mechatronics, PVE, IT, Sales & Marketing, etc.), ensuring organizational alignment and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a business resource for the Digital Vehicle Solutions department to help define, estimate, prioritize and implement solutions for new business opportunities.
- Sets individual and feature development team project goals by ensuring priorities are consistent with overall business/strategic objectives.
- Works effectively with customer/project/departmental personnel or those outside the formal line of authority to accomplish project/departmental goals.
- Manages, assembles and publish all project requirements for development efforts.
- Presents business requirements needs to Product Managers, IT and Mechatronics.
- Able to translate and documented business requirements into system requirements with the support of product managers and lead architects.
- Document features including non-functional requirements, testing/validation strategy, service level agreements, KPIs and incident management approach in collaboration with product management team.
- Write and maintain use cases and development user stories around each product and communicate them effectively to deliver high-quality product features.
- Create and maintain the product plan and employ lifecycle management processes for all assigned applications and content for the service platform.
- Support the quality assurance function in approval of validation and testing plans; ensure that all applications conform to DTNA’s service platform guidelines set forth by the development team.
- Support the Operations team by ensuring the applications meet necessary requirements such as service uptime, data privacy, user security, reporting capabilities and others as specified.
- Establish, maintain, and communicate competitive business intelligence about the area of responsibility.
- Keep pace with change and maintain a competitive advantage within the marketplace by seeking out and learning about changes in the field.
- Work with internal design resources to ensure a consistent user experience for web application(s).
- Address customer questions and customer support teams about specific application features or performance.
- Occasional travel to vendors, internal suppliers and fleet customers or dealer network.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college with 3+ years of related experience OR Master's Degree with 1+ year of related experience required
- A degree focus in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or a related field is required

Required Qualifications
- Project Management experience
- Ability to clearly define, document and communicate project requirements and status
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Experienced in leveraging voice of customer and distilling down into product specific needs
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Powerpoint, Excel and Word
- Ability to change direction and priorities in a fast paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrable commercial vehicle, digital products or telematics knowledge
- Project management experience in design and development of B2B or B2C web and/or mobile based customer interfaces or applications
- Knowledge and experience with data analytics tools such as Google Analytics
- Knowledge and experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Experience in a UX role that involved documentation of features/user stories to describe the ideal customer experience
- Experience in working with SAFe/agile processes, tools and teams
